Duration: 1 – 2 hours
Element B introduces the motorcycle itself. You'll learn the controls, basic daily checks (POWDDERSS / FLOWER), how to put the bike on and off the stand, wheel it around, and start the engine cleanly.
Practical checklist
- 01
POWDDERSS check
Petrol, Oil, Water, Damage, Drive, Electrics, Rubber, Steering, Suspension.
- 02
Centre/side stand
Confidently put the bike on and off both stands without dropping it.
- 03
Wheeling drill
Walk the bike forwards, backwards, and through a turn with the engine off.
- 04
Controls
Identify clutch, throttle, front/rear brake, gear shifter, indicators, kill switch.
- 05
Cold start
Use choke (if fitted) or follow the start procedure for your bike.
Common mistakes
- Grabbing too much front brake while wheeling.
- Forgetting the kill switch is engaged when trying to start.
- Letting the clutch out too fast on a first attempt.
Pass tips
- Treat the bike like it weighs more than it does — body before bars.
- Cover the front brake with two fingers, never four.
- If you drop it, stay calm. Instructors expect it and will help.
